The cottage on Grúni is located in the side of the main ridge, which runs from Poludňový Grúň. There are four trails leading to the cottage. Three lead to the cottage from the Vrátna Valley, one falls from the main ridge of the Malá Fatra.
From the valley, it is easiest to access by following the yellow trail from the mountain hotel – Chata Vrátna (approx. 45min.). The trail starts at the end of the Vrátna Valley, right under the gondola lift to Snilovské sedlo (to Chleb). The easiest is the above-described path along the yellow trail from Chata Vrátna.
The other two are blue trails, one of which starts from the Starý dvor location (approx. 1:15 hrs.) with the option of also using the chairlift (if it is in operation). The second trail starts from Štefanová (approx. 1 hour). Both trails start from places where there is an official parking lot and a bus stop. Hiking trails connect and cross at the cottage. From the main ridge – the slope of Poludňový Grúň, you can descend to the cottage by steeply descending along the yellow trail (approx. 45 minutes).

In Žilina turn towards Terchová, in Terchová turn towards Vrátna. From the parking lot at the final bus stop (at the cable car to Chleb) along the hiking trail to the cottage. From Pasie - Starý Dvůr, along the hiking trail, or up Pasieká or by chairlift to Grúň. From Štefanová - from the parking lot along the trail up to the cottage.

By bus from Žilina - bus station. Regular bus Žilina - Vrátna/elevator runs from platform no. 10. From the final bus stop (at the cable car to Chleb) along the hiking trail to the cottage or from Pasie - Starý Dvůr, along the hiking trail, or up Pasieká or the chairlift to Grúň. By train to Žilina (34km from Vrátná) or to Varín (20km from Vrátná). Then you need to connect to the bus connection (in Žilina there is a bus station next to the train station).
